About the Event
BEFORE THE PARADE - The club meeting/queue-up location before parade; 7:00 AM, line up in the parking lot in front of the Inwood Theatre, 5458 W Lovers Lane, Dallas, TX 75209 - (The NE corner of the intersection of W Lovers Ln and Inwood Rd.) We will queue-up and head off to the parade as a group from there, that way we can drive the parade as a club.
We expect to pull out by 7:00 AM, if you miss us, proceed to the parade start point near the Highland Park Town Hall. Line up for the actual parade begins at 7:30.
The parade starts: at 9:00 AM, Monday July 4th
Line-up is a 7:30. The parade ends at Goar Park. You MUST follow Turtle Creek to Lovers Lane to exit the parade, you cannot stop at Goar Park.
Lunch: Once the parade is over, let's meet at Sherlocks English Pub and grill in Addison, 5100 Belt Line Rd for lunch
Here’s some ideas: It’s a good idea to bring a snack, bottled water (not too much, restrooms maybe hard to find), a hat and or sun screen. Battery cables or a micro jump starter, a gallon of water should you overheat, and a small fire extinguisher just in case.
Decorate your Jag: You will have more than enough time to decorate your Jaguar once we are in line for the parade. Flags, crepe paper streamers, signs, etc. are easy. If you have JOANT magnetic signs, be sure to bring those. Careful with your paint, painter’s type, etc. or something that is easy to remove is the best idea.
Donation: There is no entry fee for being in the parade, but you are encouraged to make a donation to the parade’s beneficiary, the North Texas Food Bank.
Safety: One safety note: If you are throwing candy, do not throw it at children standing in the street, as this only encourages them to move closer to the moving floats and cars. Only throw to those that are standing at the curb.
